Stormwater Management and Flood Plain Ordinance and Local Ordinance Amendments
The City of Warrenville is a complete waiver community under the DuPage County Stormwater and Flood Plain Ordinance. As such, the City has an authority to review, permit and inspect projects involving impacts on special management areas (including wetlands and flood plains). Therefore, in most cases, developments in the City of Warrenville that involve impact on special management areas are no longer required to be submitted to DuPage County. The DuPage County Stormwater Management Permit and the supporting information, as required by the DuPage County Stormwater Management and Flood Plain Ordinance, shall be submitted to the Community Development Department of the City of Warrenville.
The City of Warrenville has adopted and follows the DuPage County Countywide Stormwater Management and Flood Plain Ordinance (Stormwater Ordinance). The Stormwater Ordinance was last revised by the County on March 25, 2008 with revisions effective August 1, 2008. The principal purpose of this Ordinance is to promote effective, equitable, acceptable, and legal stormwater management measures.
DuPage County is currently working with a consultant team to update the Stormwater Ordinance. The purpose of the update is to modernize the ordinance, recognizing that DuPage County is likely to experience more redevelopment of sites in the future than development of undeveloped sites.
A website has been created at http://ec.dupageco.org/StormWaterUpdate for the purposes of posting proposed changes and soliciting input from communities, consultants, residents and other parties with an interest in the Stormwater ORdinance. The Stormwater Ordinance update is currently scheduled to be completed and adopted by the end of 2010. The City of Warrenville has adopted and enforces the following local amendments to the DuPage County Countywide Stormwater Management and Flood Plain Ordinance:
