The Emergency Services and Disaster Agency is a volunteer entity of the City of Warrenville dedicated to the prevention and alleviation of injury and damage from any natural or technological disaster. ESDA assists the City in the case of disasters, natural or otherwise, to help provide safety and provisions to the residents of Warrenville. In addition, ESDA will help staff major City events for traffic control and public safety.


ESDA Functions
- Developing emergency plans and procedures outlining the responsibilities of city government was well as coordination between city, county, state, and federal agencies.
- Developing and conducting emergency management training and education programs for City personnel and Warrenville citizens.
- Coordinating with private relief agencies such as the American Red Cross to ensure the provision of relief supplies.
- Develop and utilize readiness-training assessment of City departments and agencies.
- Assessment of potential hazards and notification of City officials.
- Support of the Incident Command System at a scene of an emergency or disaster.
- Assisting in the development of media information regarding incidents.
- Coordination of emergency lighting or electric generation at incident sites.
- Assisting Law Enforcement/Fire Containment agencies as needed at incident sites.
- Managing the City’s emergency supplies inventory and providing back-up communication systems.
- Assisting in disaster recovery operations.
Services
- Traffic Control for major City events, accidents/incidents, and emergencies
- Public relations information related to disasters
- Development and coordination of emergency preparedness plans, including preparation for a biological hazard
- Training exercises for ESDA volunteers and City leaders
- Assume many of the responsibilities outlined in the Homeland Security Directives issued by federal and state agencies
- Other duties as needed to help cope with natural and man-made emergencies that occur in the Warrenville community

ESDA needs you! The City of Warrenville Emergency Services & Disaster Agency (ESDA) always accepts applications from men and women age 18 and older, who are interested in helping cope with natural and man-made emergencies that occur in the Warrenville community or assist with maintaining traffic control and public safety at major City events. ESDA has also assumed many of the duties outlined in the Homeland Security Directives issued by federal and state agencies.
