At the February 1, 2010 City Council meeting, Council accepted a proposal from Waste Management to provide the City with residential solid waste collection and disposal service. The City's current contract with Arc Disposal is set to expire on April 30, 2010. Council directed staff to seek proposals to determine what the market would yield. The proposal provided by Waste Management was the most competitive.

Beginning May 1, 2010, prices will be as follows.

• Refuse/Yard Waste Stickers:  $2.75/30 gallon can or 50 lbs.
• Recycling:                               FREE
• Bulk Items:                             $20.00
• Special Collections:                 $25.00/cubic yard
• White Goods (Appliances):     $25.00
• Toter Service:                         $25.00/month

Waste Management will honor stickers for four weeks after the new contract begins. The City will not be purchasing back unused stickers. So when purchasing stickers, please make sure it is no more than can be used by May 1, 2010.
