The City of Warrenville is a complete waiver community under the DuPage County Stormwater and Flood Plain Ordinance. As such, the city has an authority to review, permit, and inspect projects involving impacts on special management areas (including wetlands and floodplains).

Therefore, in most cases, developments in the City of Warrenville that involve impact on special management areas are no longer required to be submitted to DuPage County. The DuPage County Stormwater Management Permit and the supporting information, as required by the DuPage County Stormwater Management and Flood Plain Ordinance, shall be submitted to the Community Development Department of the City of Warrenville.

The City of Warrenville has adopted and currently follows the DuPage County Countywide Stormwater Management and Flood Plain Ordinance that was last revised by the county on April 23, 2013 with revisions effective April 23, 2013, and General Certifications that were last revised by the county on April 24, 2012 with revisions effective April 25, 2012.
