Free Wood Chips
Once brush has been chipped, residents may access free woodchips at the Public Works Garage, 3S346 Mignin Drive, and take as many woodchips as they want. The woodchip bin is accessible 24 hours per day and located at the north end of Mignin Drive. Resident cooperation is greatly appreciated in order to ensure that the program is efficient and can continue.

Emerald Ash Borer (EAB)
EAB has been identified in Warrenville and the Illinois Department of Agriculture has prepared municipalities for infestation. The emerald ash borer is a slender, elongated, bright green beetle. Although chemical and biological controls are being researched, more aggressive containment and eradication efforts are necessary for new outbreaks. The borer kills trees relatively quickly and affects white, green, black, pumpkin, and several horticultural varieties of ash. Within several weeks, larval feeding creates S-shaped galleries in the tree’s inner bark that wind back and forth. The tree quickly declines in the second growing season and is usually dead by the third. For more information on this insect, contact the Morton Arboretum at 630/968-0074 or visit their website at More information can be found at or by calling the national EAB hotline at 866/EAB-4512.

Parkway Tree Program
Warrenville’s Parkway Tree Program is a great way to add to the beauty of your home and enhance property values in the community.

This program provides property owners an opportunity to purchase a City approved parkway tree, at the City’s cost, which the City will then order, deliver, and plant at no additional cost to the resident. The City will then own and prune the tree as needed so it will mature with a high canopy appropriate for a parkway tree. The resident will be responsible for watering the tree during the first two years.

Contact the Community Development Department for lot specific information at 630-393-9050.
