Water Quality
Best Management Practice Information
City staff will periodically post documents and links in this section with tips for residents to help improve the water quality in the runoff from their properties.

Please be mindful of how your lawn is treated for weeds and fertilizers, as chemical treatments contribute pollutants into the runoff which in many cases ends up in local ponds, creeks and rivers.

Please visit the DuPage County Stormwater Management's Water Quality webpage here.

National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)
The City of Warrenville is considered a Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) and was required to submit a Notice of Intent (NOI) to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) annually which described the various ways the City was addressing the 6 Minimum Control Measures defined in General NPDES Permit No. ILR40.

Each year by June 1, the City is required to submit an Annual Facilities Inspection Report covering the 12 months from April 1 of the previous year through March 31 of the current year.

The current NOI expires on February 28, 2021.  The City submitted a new NOI to the IEPA May 26, 2016.  This NOI is anticipated to cover a 5-year period from 2016 to 2020.
