Under Section 5-4-5 of the Warrenville City Code certain street closures are permitted for block parties or neighborhood events, upon receipt of an application at least 30 days before the event. The Chief of Police will review the application and authorize a permit to allow a temporary closure of specific streets to general traffic if the closure will not have a materially adverse effect on the free flow of traffic in the adjacent area or will not jeopardize the health, safety, or welfare of residents. The permit shall be valid only for a specific period of time and the applicant is responsible for the payment of any costs incurred by the City in providing equipment or services for the event
