Taxi Rider Program (Pilot II)

The Taxi Rider Program (or Pilot II) administered by DuPage County and sponsored by the City of Warrenville. To register, contact the City at 630/393-9427. Parameters

  • Riders may travel 24 hours per day, 365 days per year anywhere in DuPage County
  • Trip reservations are made by contact the cab companies directly
  • Trip reservations can be made as much as one week in advance
  • Coupons are purchased from the City at for $2.50 (coupons are worth $5.00 toward cab fare)
  • Riders must use their coupons and Pilot II ID card to pay part or all of the cab fare
  • Lift-equipped vehicles are available with 24-hour advance notice

Taxi Rider Application Instructions

  1. Fill out IAPCC participant application form.
  2. Get photograph taken. Suitable photos are Polaroid or a passport photos with a plain background and as light as possible. No sunglasses or scarves should be worn. Recommended size is 3x3.  Photos can be taken at City Hall.
  3. Bring the photograph, driver’s license or state id card, and completed form to City Hall, 3S258 Manning Avenue. The form will be sent to DuPage County for processing. Applicants should receive an ID card within three weeks from DuPage County. Once the rider has obtained his/her ID, coupons can be purchased by simply sending a check with a note to City Hall or appearing in person.
  4. To pay for the taxi ride, purchase discounted coupons for $2.50 each. One coupon is worth $5.00 towards the fare. More than one coupon may be used, but if it is less than the coupon amount, the driver will not provide change. Riders are responsible for the tip.  Riders may only purchase up to ten coupons per month.

Eligibility

  1. Age 65 or older
  2. Have a documented disability (proof of disability must be on file with the City, i.e. SSI approval card, Medicare card, or letter of certification from an employment support agency).
  3. Must be a Warrenville resident.
  4.
