In order to ensure proper operation of the City’s fire hydrants, flushing is conducted once a year. This allows the hydrants to be tested and flushes out rust or metal particles from corrosion that may impair the operation of the hydrants. Residents are notified of hydrant flushing via signs posted in the neighborhood.
