What is the Census 2020?

The 2020 Census is mandated by the Constitution and conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau. Census Day is April 1, 2020. In mid-March, each home in Warrenville will receive invitation to respond to a short questionnaire - online, by phone, or by mail. Households that do not respond in one of these ways will be visited by a census taker to collect the information in person.

Why is the 2020 Census Important?

Census data provides vital information for our community. It determines how many representatives each state gets in Congress and is used to redraw district boundaries. Every year, billions of dollars in federal funding go to hospitals, fire departments, emergency services, schools, roads, and other resources based on census data. Businesses use census data to determine where to open stores and what services to offer.

Is the 2020 Census Secure?

Responses to the 2020 Census are safe, secure, and protected by federal law. Answers can only be used to produce statistics and cannot be used against any person in any way. All responses to U.S. Census Bureau household and business surveys are kept completely confidential by law.
