The National Weather Service has issued a weather alert for numerous Illinois counties effective this afternoon and throughout this evening.  DuPage County can expect scattered thunderstorms to develop by mid to late afternoon producing large hail and possible strong winds.   
   
The police department encourages you to keep yourself apprised of these predicted weather conditions and to be prepared for them.
