[ARCHIVED] Police Investigate Attempted Armed Robbery

On Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Warrenville police officers were dispatched to the 2S700 block of Winchester Circle South for a report of an attempted Armed Robbery that had just occurred. The victim reported being approached by the offender while the victim was inside a personal vehicle. When the offender approached, the victim locked the vehicle doors. The offender then began to bang on the vehicle’s window with a dark handgun, at which time the victim drove safely away from the scene.

The offender is described as a dark-skinned male with brown eyes, a small mark or tattoo near their right eye, having a stubble mustache and a long straight and pointy beard, and wearing a gray hoodie and ripped blue jeans. A composite sketch of the offender was completed.
