On Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at approximately 12:00 a.m. Warrenville Police responded to the sound of a single gunshot in the 2S700 block of Winchester Circle West. Officers immediately located and secured a group of subjects in an alleyway near the sound of the gunshot. Officers also located a semi-automatic handgun on the ground.
During the investigation of this incident, it was learned that one of the subjects (Kristian Hepburn, 21) intended to sell the firearm to another individual who was present at the incident. To prove working condition of the firearm, Hepburn shot one round into the ground into a grassy area bordering the southwest corner of the Winchester Circle subdivision. When police arrived, a second subject (Tandre Felix, 19) took the firearm and threw it onto the ground in an attempt to conceal it from police. No injuries were associated with this incident.

The DuPage County States Attorney’s Office approved the following charges against each offender (photos attached):

Kristian Hepburn:
Reckless Discharge of a Firearm (Class 4 felony)
Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapon (Class 4 felony)
Defacing Identification of a Firearm (Class 3 felony)

Tandre Felix:
Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapon (Class 4 felony)
Defacing Identification of a Firearm (Class 3 felony)

At this time, several other individuals have been released without charges. Anyone
who has information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Dawson at (630) 393-2131.
