The Police Department is beginning this year's informational campaign on the City Facebook page, website, and cable channel reminding residents and visitors alike that possession or use of illegal fireworks is against City Code. As part of the overall campaign efforts, Warrenville police officers will be handing out fireworks educational materials during traffic stops, and alerting motorists to enforcement and fine costs through these efforts. Additional enforcement efforts regarding illegal fireworks is set to take place at the end of this month. The Police Department is encouraging everyone to leave the fireworks to the professionals, so a safe and happy Independence Day celebration can be enjoyed by all.
