Social Security Administration Continues to Provide Help During COVID-19 Pandemic

On behalf of the Social Security Administration (SSA), the City of Warrenville would like to let its citizens know that during the current pandemic, SSA continues to provide help to people in the community.

While their offices are not providing service to walk-in visitors due to COVID-19, SSA remains committed to providing ongoing benefits and vital services by phone with most Social Security matters. Local Social Security office phone numbers can be found at this link: (secure.ssa.gov/ICON/main.jsp) or call the National number, 1 (800) 772-1213.

SSA also has many secure and convenient online services (www.ssa.gov/onlineservices) to:

• Apply for Retirement (www.ssa.gov/benefits/retirement/), Disability (www.ssa.gov/benefits/disability/), and Medicare (www.ssa.gov/benefits/medicare/) benefits,
• Check the status of an application or appeal,
• Request a replacement Social Security card (in most areas),
• Print a benefit verification letter, and
• Much more.

Most business with SSA can be done via phone or online, but if the matter is a critical situation they may be able to schedule an appointment. Additionally, SSA understands that getting medical and other documentation can be difficult due to the pandemic. So, they are continuing to extend certain deadlines wherever possible. Don’t delay in receiving help, find your local SSA office phone number today: Social Security Office Locator (secure.ssa.gov/ICON/main.jsp).
