Christmas Tree and Holiday Lights Disposal Options

* Groot will pick up one Christmas tree per house for free during the first two weeks of January. 

* Pickup the week of January 1 is Friday, January 5 and Saturday, January 6 due to the New Year's holiday.

* The week of January 8, pickup is Thursday, January 11 or Friday, January 12.

* Place trees at your curbs for collection and remove all ornaments, lights, wiring, and tinsel. 

* Groot will also take garlands and wreaths.  

* Take holiday lights to Warrenville Park District Recreation Center's lower level lobby, 3S260 Warren Avenue, through February 1.

January 2024 Celebration

* The City's Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Awareness Commission (IDEC) honors federally recognized heritage and history months throughout the year as part of our commitment to building an inclusive community that values diversity. 

* In January, we recognize Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on January 15.

* MLK Day is the only federal holiday that is also designated by Congress as a national day of service.

* IDEC welcomes feedback, ideas, and suggestions to further the mission of inclusivity and respect for all in Warrenville. Submit comments to: idec@warrenville.il.us.

Census Bureau Hiring Special Census Staff

* The U.S. Census Bureau needs field staff to collect data for the 2024 Warrenville Special Census.

* The City will conduct a special census to get an updated population count.

* Apply to join the census team at: Special Census

* Help keep our environment clean and recycle old electronics, textiles, and clothing. 

* DuPage County has partnered with three year-round sites in Naperville, Burr Ridge, and Lisle Township.

City Joins Greenest Region Compact

* Warrenville is one of 158 communities that belong to the Greenest Region Compact (GRC).

* The GRC promotes sustainability in communities around the Chicago region with an emphasis on building strong and vibrant communities. 

* The Compact addresses 10 areas, including climate, economic development, energy, land, leadership, mobility, municipal operations, sustainable communities, water, and waste & recycling.
