Cerny Park Public Input Meeting August 20

* Exciting improvements are coming to Cerny Park!

* This project received a state grant of $600,000 to complete Phase 1 of the improvements.

* There will be a public input meeting from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20 at the park, 4S150 River Road.

* The meeting will include a presentation by Hitchcock Design Group. 

* Any comments you would like to submit on the project can be emailed to timr@warrenvilleparks.org.

* This is a part-time, seasonal position involving:

 * Public contact with school children

 * Ensuring their safety while walking to and from school

* Work occurs throughout the community near assigned schools

IDEC Observation: World Humanitarian Day August 19 

* The City's Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Awareness Commission (IDEC) honors federally recognized heritage and history months throughout the year as part of our commitment to building an inclusive community that values diversity.

* On August 19, we recognize: World Humanitarian Day.

* On August 19, 2003, a bomb attack on the Canal Hotel in Baghdad, Iraq, killed 22 humanitarian aid workers, including the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Iraq, Sergio Vieira de Mello. Five years later, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution designating August 19 as World Humanitarian Day (WHD).

* IDEC welcomes feedback, ideas, and suggestions to further the mission of inclusivity and respect for all in Warrenville. Submit comments to: idec@warrenville.il.us.

DuPage County Veteran's Resource Fair August 21

* WHAT: Veterans Resource Fair, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 21.

* WHERE: Auditorium, 421 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton.

* MORE: 70 agencies will provide information about veteran programs and resources. 

* The Illinois Secretary of State’s Office can assist with veteran designation on driver’s licenses and state IDs.
