Fight the Tick Bite

Ticks are most active from April through September, especially in grassy or wooded areas—including your own backyard!

The DuPage County Health Department reminds everyone to take a few simple steps to protect yourself, your family, and your pets when spending time outdoors:

✔️ Check for ticks after being outside—especially under arms, behind knees, around the waist, scalp, and on pets

✔️ Use EPA-registered repellents and treat clothes or gear with permethrin

✔️ Shower after coming inside to help wash off any ticks

✔️ Remove ticks properly using tweezers—never use petroleum jelly, heat, or nail polish

✔️ Talk to your vet about tick prevention for pets

If you get a tick bite and notice a rash, fever, or flu-like symptoms within a few weeks, call your doctor and mention the bite.

📍Free tick removal kits are available at DCHD locations.

City Water Quality Report Available on Website

The City has published the 2024 Water Quality Report about the source and safety of Warrenville's drinking water.

The water supply comes from an underground aquifer. The community's tap water met all drinking water health standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The City closely monitors the system and groundwater supply. There were no contaminant level violations in 2024.
