Fall hydrant flushing will take place from September 29 through October 31, 2025.

Fall Hydrant Flushing

The annual fall hydrant flushing program is September 29 through October 31, Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Hydrant flushing is a regular maintenance activity that helps:

* Remove built-up sediment from water mains

* Maintain water quality

* Ensure hydrants are working properly for fire protection

During flushing, water may look cloudy or discolored, or contain some sediment for a short time. Running your faucets will help clear it up.

Water is safe to drink during this time, even if it looks different.

Save Our Water: Dispose Medications Safety

The Warrenville Police Department has a secure prescription drug drop-box in its lobby.

Properly disposing unused or expired medications helps prevent them from contaminating our drinking water.

Drop off prescription drugs during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Place them in a sealed zip-lock style bag or keep them in their original container.

Collected medications are safely disposed through a professional recycling service.
