Programs to Help Save on Home Energy Costs 

Energy costs have increased for many households. ComEd and Nicor Gas offer programs that may help income-qualifying residents lower their bills and improve comfort at home.

Residents may be eligible for:

• A free home energy assessment

• Rebates and discounts on energy-efficient upgrades

• Free improvements such as insulation, air sealing, LED light bulbs, and smart thermostats

Check eligibility and sign up at www.eesavings.com or call 1-855-433-2700.

Even if you do not qualify, rebates may still be available through ComEd and Nicor Gas for qualifying energy-efficient upgrades.

Early Voting Schedule for March Primary Election

If you like to vote early or by mail, now is a good time to plan ahead.

Key dates to know:

• February 5: Early voting begins at the DuPage Fairgrounds and vote-by-mail ballots are sent

• February 17: Last day to register to vote through deputy registrars

• March 2: Expanded early voting opens across DuPage County

• March 12: Last day to request a vote-by-mail ballot

• March 16: Last day of early voting

• March 17: Election Day

Offices on the ballot include:

• U.S. Senate

• U.S. House

• Governor and Lt. Governor

• Attorney General

• Secretary of State

• Other state executive offices

• State Senate

• State House

The General Election is November 3, 2026.

Identity Theft Awareness Week

Has someone used your personal information to open accounts, steal your tax refund, or file fake health insurance claims? That’s identity theft. 

The good news is you can take steps to protect yourself.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and its partners are sharing events and resources during Identity Theft Awareness Week (January 26–30, 2026). 

Topics include:

• How to avoid identity theft

• How to spot scams

• What to do if identity theft happens to you

FREE Income Tax Help for Senior Citizens (55+) 

Winfield Township, AARP, and the West Chicago Park District offer FREE income tax services for eligible residents.

Appointments are required and limited.

Call 2-1-1 For Help and Community Resources

211 is a free confidential service that connects residents to community services or resources. 

Dial 2-1-1 for:

• Help with housing, food, healthcare, or emergency assistance.  

• Information on services, including mental health counseling, disaster relief, legal aid, and more.

• Emergency assistance, including evacuation routes, shelters, or recovery services.

• Resources to improve quality of life, such as job training, food assistance, or housing support.

• If you need help and don’t know where to call, call 2-1-1 or visit 211dupage.gov
