ACE Hardware Recycles Household Batteries

Battery recycling has become more convenient for our community. 

Warrenville ACE Hardware now accepts all household batteries (except leaking or defective batteries) for recycling. Just bring them in, and staff will take care of the rest.

Hours:

Monday–Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Saturday: 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Sunday: 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Early Voting Resumes for DuPage County Residents

After a temporary pause last week, DuPage County early voting resumed on Monday, February 16.

Early Voting locations:

• Addison Township Office (401 N Addison Rd, Addison)

• Bartlett Community Center (700 S Bartlett Rd, Bartlett)

• Downers Grove Village Hall (850 Curtiss St, Downers Grove)

• DuPage County Fairgrounds (2015 Manchester Rd, Wheaton)

• Naperville Municipal Center (400 S Eagle St, Naperville).

Additional early voting locations, including Warrenville Park District, will open Monday, March 2.

The Primary Election is March 17.

Offices on the ballot include:

• U.S. Senate

• U.S. House

• Governor and Lt. Governor

• Attorney General

• Secretary of State

• Other state executive offices

• State Senate

• State House

The General Election is November 3, 2026.

DuPage County residents may qualify for assistance through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

Income-eligible ComEd customers can now receive a monthly discount on their home electric bills through the new Low-Income Discount Rates program.

We're Hiring: Public Works Utility Maintenance Worker

The City of Warrenville is accepting applications for a Utility Maintenance Worker in the Utility Division. 

This full-time position helps maintain the City’s water and sanitary sewer systems and supports essential Public Works operations.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Benefits include: Health insurance, IMRF retirement, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and more.

We're Hiring: Public Works Seasonal Workers

The City of Warrenville is accepting applications for Public Works Seasonal Workers.

This is a great opportunity to work outdoors, learn more about Public Works operations, and contribute to the community during the summer months.

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Schedule: 40 hours per week, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Position type: Temporary summer position (no benefits)

PTO: One paid day after 90 days of employment

Seasonal Workers assist with:

• Mowing, watering, trimming, and general grounds maintenance

• Operating lawn maintenance equipment

• Setting up safe work zones and assisting with storm clean up

• Supporting community events and other Public Works tasks

Applicants must:

• Be at least 18 years old

• Have a valid Illinois driver’s license

• Be able to perform manual labor in all weather conditions

We're Hiring: Community Service Officer

The City of Warrenville is accepting applications for a Community Service Officer with Warrenville Police Department. 

This is a great opportunity to gain experience in the criminal justice field while serving the community and supporting public safety operations.

Community Service Officers assist with a variety of non-emergency duties, including:

• Traffic control and parking enforcement

• Non-criminal complaints

• Vehicle and building lockouts

• Animal-related calls

• Assisting with community events

• Supporting the Records Division and FOIA requests

• Preparing body-worn camera footage for court and records requests

This is a full-time position that offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, IMRF retirement, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and more.
