Emily Larson has been a resident in Warrenville since 1967 and has four children and four grandchildren. She worked for the Warrenville Police Department for 20 years and helped organize their volunteer pool. She has also served on the city’s 175th Anniversary Commission, and is currently assigned to the Route 56 Streetscape Workgroup. She was awarded the Lucy Bernard Pacesetter Award in 1998, the Illinois Woman of Achievement Award in 2000, the Warrenville Youth and Family Services Spirit Award in 2010, and the Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce Community Treasures Award in 2011.
Emily is a member of the DuPage Municipal Clerks Association, and the Northwest Illinois Municipal Clerks Association. She has been city clerk since 2000 and has completed the requirements necessary to qualify as a Registered Municipal Clerk under the Municipal Clerks of Illinois (MCI) and as a Certified Municipal Clerk under the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC). She is currently working toward the Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation.
In the community, Emily is a member of the Warrenville Kiwanis Club and Warrenville in Bloom, where she is in charge of their Weed Warrior Program. She has also served on the Summer Daze Planning Committee, Warrenville Clothing Sales, and Habitat for Humanity events. She is an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving on the Council, Church choir, visiting shut-ins, and making meals for families in need. She is an avid gardener, with two Koi ponds in her yard, and enjoys working in the community gardens.
