Patrol
REQUEST PORTAL FOR RESIDENTS |
Responsibilities
The Patrol Division consists of four uniformed patrol teams. Each team, supervised by a sergeant and corporal, respond to 911 calls for service, initiate investigations of crimes, conduct traffic enforcement, enforce city ordinances, and proactively maintain a visible presence, in order to deter crime.
Within each patrol team are highly trained patrol officers who have received advanced training as forensic evidence technicians, traffic accident investigators, truck enforcement officers, and juvenile officers.
Speed Trailers
The Police Department has two speed trailers, which may be found positioned at various locations throughout the city to bring speed awareness to drivers in both residential and business areas. In addition, they may be used as message boards to re-direct traffic or convey general enforcement notifications. The devices are equipped to download statistical data, insuring traffic enforcement is directed toward areas that have higher traffic volumes and/or are in need of speed compliance.
If you have any questions or wish to have the speed trailer placed in your neighborhood, please use the above online portal (Citizen Reporting).
