Warrenville joins more than 3,600 Tree City USA communities recognized for their commitment to effective urban forest management. This marks the 36th year the City achieved Tree City status and the ninth time the City received the Growth Award!
The Growth Award is an additional recognition that demonstrates environmental improvement and an outstanding level of tree care. Warrenville is one of 467 Growth Award recipients nationally.
Warrenville earned Tree City USA recognition by meeting the program's four requirements:
- Maintaining a tree board or department
- Having a community tree care ordinance
- Spending at least $2 per capita on urban forestry
