City renovations on the water tower at Country Ridge Drive/Maple Terrace continue through September 2023. Maguire Iron is the contractor.
The work includes:
- repairing the water tower
- removing exterior paint
- painting the interior and exterior of the water tower, and adding the new City logo
Cellular carriers built a temporary tower onsite to relocate their equipment from the water tower. Once the water tower project is complete, the temporary tower will be removed.
Painting began in August. A containment tent covered the tower for most of the project. The condition of the water tower made it necessary to remove existing paint by sand blasting. The containment tent kept debris and paint contained.
As with any construction project, unexpected issues can cause delays. It is the City’s goal to expedite work on this project, so the water tower can be put back into service.
The City will collect water samples and have an accredited lab analyze those before returning the water tower into service.
