Work on the Cerny Park improvement project begins Monday, April 7. The project will include several exciting upgrades. Phase 1:
- A brand-new playground
- Ballfield upgrades
- Basketball court color coating
- New pickleball courts
- Shelter renovations and improved paths
The project is scheduled to take place from April through the end of August, depending on the weather.
During this time, some areas of the park may be closed for safety while work is being done. Thank you for your patience as we make these improvements for everyone to enjoy.

Cerny Park will not be available to rent in 2025 due to the improvement project. *Work on Cerny Park will not affect the annual Fourth of July and National Night Out celebrations.

- Shelter/Restroom renovation with new roof, structure repairs, and furnishing improvements

In 2023, the City of Warrenville, in partnership with the Warrenville Park District, submitted a planning initiative to complete park improvements at Cerny Park and apply for funding assistance through an OSLAD (Open Space and Land Acquisition Development) grant from the IDNR (IL Department of Natural Resources). In January 2024, this project was awarded $600,000 to complete Phase 1 of this project. In December 2024, the IDNR awarded an additional $600,000 to complete Phase 2.
