[ARCHIVED] Help Shape Warrenville’s ADA Transition Plan for Streets and Sidewalks

Warrenville streets and sidewalks accessibility survey May 2025

The City of Warrenville is working with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) to develop an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan focused on public rights-of-way. This includes sidewalks, curb ramps, crosswalks, pedestrian signals, and transit stops.

The goal of the plan is to identify and remove physical barriers that prevent individuals with disabilities from safely and comfortably moving through the community. It’s part of a larger effort to make Warrenville’s public spaces more accessible and inclusive for everyone.

How You Can Participate:

We’re asking residents to share their input and help identify problem areas. You can participate in several ways:

  • Take a short online survey to share your experiences and concerns. Take the survey

  • Use an interactive map to point out specific locations where improvements are needed. Update the map

  • Stay informed about upcoming public meetings and engagement opportunities

Your Voice Matters:

Community input will help guide the City’s priorities as we plan future accessibility improvements.

What's Coming Up:

You may see people taking photos of sidewalks and curbs around Warrenville—here’s why!

As part of the City’s work to improve accessibility, a team from DeepWalk will be in town in May. They’re helping us collect important data for Warrenville’s ADA Transition Plan, which focuses on making sidewalks, curb ramps, and street crossings safer and easier to use for everyone.

  • You may notice them using their phones to take photos and record conditions in the public right-of-way—this is all part of the evaluation process.
  • Sidewalk and curb ramp data collection will begin the week of May 19.
  • Street crossing evaluations will start at the end of May.

Thank you for helping make Warrenville a community that works for everyone.
