Shop local and support small businesses with the launch of the City's Pop-Up Shop Marketplace this fall at Leone Schmidt Heritage Park. The Marketplace will feature custom-built shop spaces for rotating vendors, bringing a fresh retail experience to the community and energizing one of the City’s central gathering spaces.
Participating vendors will be notified by email October 8, 2025.
Soft Launch Weekends
Be among the first to experience the Marketplace at our Soft Launch events at the park, 28W164 Warrenville Road:
Saturday, October 25 · 12:00–4:00 p.m. Temporary market tents will be set up along a cement patio area, and two vendor units will be installed on the property.
Saturday, November 1 · 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. The event will include a ribbon cutting ceremony and a craft fair. During the celebration, the City’s Tourism and Arts Commission will announce the official name for the Marketplace.
The Marketplace is designed to give vendors more than a place to sell goods. Plans include mentorship opportunities and partnerships with local financial institutions to help entrepreneurs learn how to be a successful retailer and eventually move their way from the market to a more permanent space,
The project is supported by a $25,000 grant from DuPage County’s Member Initiative Program, which will reimburse the City for start-up costs.
Stay Updated
Future ideas for the site include a pavilion for dining and a flex pavilion that could host classes, small concerts, community activities, or even morning yoga.
