Soft Launch Weekends

Be among the first to experience the Marketplace at our Soft Launch events:

Saturday, October 25 · 12:00–4:00 p.m. Temporary market tents will be set up along a cement patio area, and two vendor units will be installed on the property.

From 1:00 to 4:00 on October 25, the Warren Tavern at 3S540 Second Street will be open for tours and offering free coffee, tea, hot cider and hot cocoa to all who stop in.

This is a great opportunity to learn about local Warrenville history as we take the next exciting step into the future!

Saturday, November 1 · 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. The event will include a ribbon cutting ceremony and a craft fair. During the celebration, the City’s Tourism and Arts Commission will announce the official name for the Marketplace.

And don't miss the Good Olde Fashioned Christmas Fest Craft Fair hosted by The Warrenville Museum Guild next to the Pop-Up Market at Warren Tavern, 3S540 2nd Street from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

• Crafts and craft gift baskets made by guild members for sale.

• Free admission.

• Raffle $1.00 per ticket. Handcrafted prizes.

All proceeds from the craft fair benefit the Warrenville Historical Museum.

The Marketplace is designed to give vendors more than a place to sell goods. Plans include mentorship opportunities and partnerships with local financial institutions to help entrepreneurs learn how to be a successful retailer and eventually move their way from the market to a more permanent space,

During the soft launch, most vendors will have temporary tables and tents. The rollout will feature one shed that two vendors will share. Mayor Johnson drew names at the October 20 City Council meeting. The vendors who will share the new shed are:

October 25:

  • Dandelion Atelier
  • DM Design

November 1:

  • Bada Bling Crystals and Crystal Candles
  • London Skye

The project is supported by a $25,000 grant from DuPage County’s Member Initiative Program, which will reimburse the City for start-up costs.

Future ideas for the site include a pavilion for dining and a flex pavilion that could host classes, small concerts, community activities, or even morning yoga.
