[ARCHIVED] Police Announce US Marine Corps 2019 Toys for Tots Campaign

Toys for Tots delivery 2018

The U.S. Marine Corps 2019 Toys for Tots Campaign has begun, and the Police Department is a DuPage County donation drop-off site! Now through noon on Friday, December 13, new unwrapped toys (in original packaging) for children between the ages of newborn and 12-years old may be dropped off at the Police Department, 3S245 Warren Avenue. Donations will be accepted during regular business hours, which are Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., and Saturdays between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (City holidays excluded).

Monetary donations may be made through the Marine Corps Toys for Tots website link provided below, and will be used to purchase toys for children in DuPage County when shortages occur. (Please note that the Police Department will not be able to accept monetary donations.)

All toys collected will be distributed to DuPage County children in need, and with your continued generosity, these children will have an opportunity to experience the joy of Christmas! Questions regarding this campaign may be directed to Community Service Officer Perry at 630-393-2131 (Police non-emergency).

The DuPage County Marine Corps has provided the following donation guidelines:

Items accepted: New/Unwrapped toys, and items for older kids like hand-held electronics, jewelry sets, cosmetics, arts and crafts, model kits, creative/educational toys, and athletic equipment.

Items to avoid: Gift cards (online monetary donations can be made, instead); toys that could lead to a choking hazard.

Items not accepted: Food, used stuffed animals, clothing, and realistic-looking weapons.
