[ARCHIVED] Call 811 Before You Dig

811 Logo

Resident Safety Reminder: Fall is the perfect time for various digging projects.  Planting bushes and trees, building a deck and installing a new mailbox post are a few common examples.   Avoid damaging underground utility lines on digging projects by contacting JULIE at 811 or go online to JULIEbeforeyoudig.com anytime a project will disturb the earth.

Over 340,000 utility damages are reported each year because of digging prior to contacting JULIE at 811, which can also result in injury, repair costs, fines and inconvenient outages. Nearly 2 in 5 homeowners will put themselves, families and communities at risk by digging without contacting JULIE first.  Always call 811 before digging to avoid service disruptions and damages to buried utilities.
